In "Target Hamas: Chicago Jews React to Rantisi Killing," Chicago Jewish News, April 23, 2004, both CPN Board Member Rabbi Andrea London and CPN President Gidon D. Remba are interviewed. Mr. Remba was misquoted as saying of Sharon’s unilateral disengagement plan from Gaza and a small part of the West Bank that Sharon’s is a “plan to remove settlements for the first time in Israel’s history.” The editor inadvertently omitted three crucial words from his remarks: “from Eretz Yisrael" (the Land of Israel) or, more specifically, the West Bank and Gaza. It was of course Sharon who, as Defense Minister and architect of the settlements, spearheaded the removal and razing of Yamit, the settlement in the Northern Sinai, as part of the peace treaty with Egypt.
